What is The Sage Brotherhood?

The Sage Brotherhood is an online men's community established and developed by Sean Sage. Supported by truth-seekers and lovers of wisdom alike, this website is designed as an archive of knowledge for young men to become sages of their own.
In the famous Hero's Journey, the Sage is a common archetype who acts as a mentor for the hero. Reflective and inquisitive, the Sage's role is to be a beacon of light in a sea of darkness, guiding others to discover the Truth and find their way. Unfortunately, Sages have become a rare breed among the multitudes of men and women who believe in the plurality of truth, ignoring objective realities in favor of subjective feelings.
Under this current zeitgeist, it seems that men are suffering from a crisis of masculinity due to the myriad of unprecedented social, technological, and economic changes afflicting the West. These “Lost Boys” are wandering blind, purposeless, and without refuge, longing for a panacea to cure their plight. While some seek genuine answers to resolve their life circumstances, others are looking for quick and easy fixes. And desperation, like blood, attracts the hungriest of sharks.
Every day it seems more and more self-appointed “Alpha Males” are exploiting these impressionable, outcasted young men by appealing to their masculine desire for power and prestige. While men should take action to become powerful and take control of their lives, they must also learn to balance it with temperance—a quality sorely lacking among many popular male leaders today. Men must understand that just because a man can doesn't mean he should, and that their actions are not inconsequential but have long-lasting ramifications.
A man is not an island, free to act with complete impunity, nor is he allowed to impose standards on others that he himself ignores when inconvenient. Otherwise, he is no better than those he criticizes. The solution to declining masculinity is not more alpha male caricatures acting like fools, but judicious men holding everyone—including themselves—accountable. Only through the bonds of Brotherhood can this be made possible.
